Cocktail & Sons Spiced Demerara is a syrup built with a focus on aged spirits. A sweet and spicy combination of traditional baking spices, toasted peppercorns, wild cherry bark, and orange peel, it's perfect for an Old Fashioned, Sazerac, Bardstown Buck, and beyond.

Try it with your favorite barrel aged spirits like whisky, bourbon, rye, rum, or añejo tequila.

Flavor profile:

  • Raw sugar from Three Brothers Farm in Youngsville, LA
  • Sichuan peppercorns for tingling spiciness
  • White peppercorns
  • Allspice
  • Coriander
  • Cassia bark
  • Wild cherry bark
  • Orange peel

Recipes

On the bottle:

Old Fashioned

  • 2 shakes aromatic bitters (optional)

More ways to enjoy:

Bardstown Buck

A buck, also called a mule (thanks to the Moscow Mule, which is just a vodka buck), is the slightly antiquated name for a family of historic mixed drinks that involve ginger ale or ginger beer. No matter what you call it, it’s the perfect summer sipper.

  • 1.5 oz bourbon
  • .5 oz Cocktail & Sons Spiced Demerara
  • .5 oz lime juice
  • Ginger beer.

Add all ingredients to a Collins glass with ice. Stir. Garnish with a lime wedge.

Bourbon Milk Punch

Bourbon Milk Punch is a classic breakfast cocktail, served at brunches all over New Orleans. Want to make it vegan? Try coconut milk in place of the half & half.

  • 1.5 oz bourbon
  • .75 oz milk, half & half, or non-dairy substitute
  • .5 oz Cocktail & Sons Spiced Demerara
  • dash of vanilla extract

Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker. Shake hard with ice. Strain over fresh ice into a rocks glass. Garnish with freshly grated nutmeg.
